We are called to walk with one other.

We are called to reach out.

To be a friend.

To put aside our differences.

To trust God with our lives and the lives of those we are walking with.

We were not made to argue.

We were not made to fight.

So often we forget about who the real battle is against.

We end up fighting each other and that is not what God wants.

Who do you need to befriend?

Who's life needs your friendship?

Pope Francis tells us to meet people where they are at.

That's what I want to do.

It doesn't matter where you've been, where you are, who you will become.

We are all God's children.

Instead of pretending to have all the right answers and pointing fingers at others, I want to be that out stretched hand.

I might not have thought to be this a year ago, maybe not even a month ago. Yet the Holy Spirit is whispering in my ear, and resting on my shoulder. He is giving me peace. He is telling me to be a friend.

What is a friend?

"A friend is a single soul dwelling in two bodies." -Aristotle

"The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart." -Elizabeth Foley

"A friend is one who knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you've become, and still, gently allows you to grow." -William Shakespeare

“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you."
John 15:12-15

Lord, I give you my friendships. I give you all of me and all I cannot control. I ask you to help me remember to ask myself What Would Jesus Do in my every day life and friendships. In your most holy name, this I pray. Amen ~
