Little Lamb

We are all familiar with the nursery rhyme "Mary had a little lamb."
It's a classic.
Your childhood was not very childhood-like if Mary and her little
lamb were not a part of it. True or true?

Today I had the sweetest experience with a little lamb.
When knitting with my dear friend Tiffany it happened to be time to feed the baby lamb her bottle.

It was the cutest and sweetest experience feeding little baby lamby! She sucked and sucked and sucked until that bottle was empty. I got to pet and hold her as she ate.
It was so precious!

I now really want a baby lamb. :(
How sweet and innocent they are.

No wonder Jesus is referred to as the Lamb of God.
The pure one.
One who is innocent.

I see the Lenten season as a time to reflect on the Father's love for me.
How he gave his own son so that I may be saved through his most precious blood.

The lamb is a symbol of that love. Think back to the very first Passover or different sacrifices throughout the ages...the blood of the Lamb is significant. It is beautiful.

"Harshly dealt with, He bore it humbly, like a lamb that is led to the slaughter house."
Isaiah 53:7

Thanking God for the gift of life ~ life in all forms. Humans and animals... From the moment of conception to the moment of natural death. God how amazing you are! How beautiful are your works!

~ He tends his flock like a shepherd:

He gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart ~
Isaiah 40:11

“Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!"
