Holy week.
Here we are on Palm Sunday, entering into the hardest week of the year. Holy week.
Why is it hard?
Because we have to accept that it was our sins that put Jesus on that cross.
Our stubbornness and stupidity that handed him over.
It was and is our disobedience to the Father that scourged and bled him.
Our choices, our pride, our selfishness that crowned his head with thorns.
It's us, through sin that there needed to be the passion of our LORD. Our LORD whom we turned our backs against, who we spat upon, who we crucified.
Yes, it is us who did this to Jesus. And do this to Jesus still every time we choose sin over love.
This is why holy week is so hard.
We are the soldiers whipping and beating you. We are the Sanhedrin who claimed you guilty. We are Pilate who feared the people and gave into evil's plan. We are the angry crowd. We are the disciples who ran away. We are the betrayer Judas.
But like mentioned in today's homily, we ponder why we take a whole week to reflect on all these awful things. Why?
The answer is because we need to be reminded of how much the Father loves us that He would give us His only begotten Son to die for us that we will be saved.
I sit here posting this video below with tears streaming down my face. Forgive me, Jesus! ..A sinner.
Love Ran Red. I am stealing this from Chris Tomlin's album.
Jesus loved us so much that His love was shown through His precious blood. His love ran red.

For you and for me.
