We are what we Love

"If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing." 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

What do I love?

How do I let love define me?
I've been asking myself these questions as I go through stuff I don't use or want anymore.

But I think the more important question is, Who do I love?

Who consumes my heart?

"Jesus, the eternal Son, assumed a human nature and a human heart. And if his Heart truly is human, if he truly is like us in all things but sin, then his Heart is filled with the desire not only to love but ask to be loved. In other words, by taking on a human heart, God, in Christ, made himself vulnerable. Not by necessity but by his free choice, God allowed himself, in Jesus Christ, to feel a need for our love."
Fr. Michael E. Gaitley 33 Days to Merciful Love.

Our hearts are vulnerable and made for love.

To love and to be loved.

His heart and ours.

"He consoles our hearts, and as we allow Him to console our hearts, we console His heart at the same time."
Sr. M. Karolyn, FSGM

Anything else is a distraction.

"You alone can satisfy my soul. And although I shall travel by night and see only by the light of faith, descend on my soul now like a river of peace to take away my uncertainties, my fear of the dark."
