Heartache 2020
"This is not what I want... This is not what I planned... And I just gotta say... I do not understand."
I do not understand.
I don't understand the timing of this pandemic.
I can't imagine right now, what it feels like for a senior in high school or a senior in college.
All their plans... Graduation, prom, friends, everything.
Why right now? Why your class?
Everyone else in previous years got to complete their senior year normally.
The timing couldn't be worse.
The finish line was in sight but suddenly it feels like it doesn't matter.
This might come across as white noise, but it does matter.
Your class will not be forgotten.
It won't be remembered in ways you thought it would be but it will be remembered more than any other class in history.
The Class of 2020 was inconvenienced and interrupted in an unexplainable way.
But it's what you do with that inconvenience and that interruption.
"A willingness to be inconvenienced is the ultimate proof of love."
"You love as much as you are willing to be inconvenienced."
"Love is the willingness to be interrupted."
"Interrupt comes from the Latin word: Interrumpene, meaning "break into.""
"Love is the willingness to be broken into."
"Your theology is best expressed in your availability and your interrumptability - and ability to be broken into."
-The Broken Way
Yes, there has been so much heartache. But so much good can come if we let it.
“Who knows why God allows heartbreak, but the answer must be important enough because God allows His heart to break too.”
