Make some noise

Yesterday I was listening to Sr. Mary Gabriel talk at the FOCUS retreat in Nashville. Sadly though it was over the computer screen and not in person. Sad face.

What she said struck home and made a perfect blog post. Hehe. Thanks sis!

God needs us now.

I am guilty as much as anyone when we "drag our feet" waiting for writing in the sky from God.

We're waiting to do what God wants. Waiting. Pop pop. (This is when you pretend you have a mic and pop, pop it when repeating yourself.)

Those of us seeking a "mate" are waiting for Mr. or Miss Right to come walking through the door.
Those called to religious life are waiting to find the perfect convent, seminary etc.
Those of us simply just waiting, waiting for God to crane us into His plans.

He needs us now though.

God isn't saying, "After your nap... After you're married 28 years... Once you've made final vows...Well whenever you feel ready."

Heck no!

He is calling us to greatness in this very moment. This moment of not knowing what is ahead but looking forward with everything to give.

As Catholics we are called to awake the sleeping giant. The Church.

However we are not going to wake her up by doing nothing. We need to be active. Both physically, and mentally.
Dig deeper into our faith. (Heck if you're not Catholic dabble in our faith. Find out what we're about. No secrets here!)
Growing by studying more and more why I am who I love being is something I really want to do throughout the new year. But it's not all learning it's action as well. We need to show Christ's love.
We all do.

For too long we've been waiting. Now is the time. Ready or not.

How are you going to wake the sleeping giant up?

For one, get excited about being Catholic. Why be excited about your religious beliefs? Because if you really believe everything the Catholic Church teaches you won't ask why but how can I not?

We have an awesome Holy Father in the Vatican who is kicking butt and taking names. Well actually that doesn't sound good but what I am trying to say is he is on board for waking the Church up.

We go back. Wayyyy back.

The lives of the saints are one of my favorite things about being Catholic. I will have a saint fanatic blog post someday but that day is not today.

There is so much we as the body of the Church have to offer. We just need to give it.

Your life is a gift, and the gift only has value if if you give it away. Don't keep the gift for yourself. -O.L.E.M.
