What's it to you?

Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire? - Corrie Ten Boom

Good question. What is prayer to you? Do you ask God to lead you or do you only turn to Him when you're a wreck?

To some people, prayer is a helpful tool that strengthens his or her relationship with God.
To others, prayer is a last chance whine to help him or her get out of a sticky situation.

As human beings, we tend to typically pray only when we are in need of something. We have a tough time surrendering the wheel that we clench so tightly. Our mindset is to Go, Go, Go! However we should be teaching ourselves how to focus on where we are going.

We only slow down when we're in need of something.

For example: A car needs gas to run. Put yourself in the driver's seat. You're out of gas. You pull into the gas station. This beautiful godly-like guy offers to "take care" of that for you and pays your gas fee. You're taken care of, your car is full and now you're ready to leave again. But just in case you get yourself in the same situation again, you get the guy's number. Then you cruise.

Quit making God your last resort! He should be your number one priority! Not something you keep in the back of your car to get old, dusty and forgotten about!

Ask Him to fill up your gas tank but don't make Him pay. He already did once. And that is plenty.
