Burnt Biscuit
I received a forward from a dear friend. Normally I don't read forwards but since it was from this friend, I knew it had to be good. And I was right. ;)
The forward is a story of a little kid who is at his grandparents' house for dinner. Grandma liked to make breakfast for dinner. She placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of her husband. The little kid didn't know what to think of the burned biscuits. Would anyone else notice?
After dinner the grand child overheard his grandma apologize to her husband for burning the biscuits. Grandpa's response was, "Honey, I love burned biscuits now and then."
Later that night the little kid decided to ask his grandpa if he really liked burned biscuits. His answered, "Your grandma put in a hard days work today. She is real tired. -And besides a little burned biscuit never hurt anyone."
The ending paragraph is this:
"And that's my prayer for you today... that you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!"
Maybe you have or have had a few burnt biscuits in your life... You could choose to eat around the burnt biscuits or you could suck it up and get some charcoal on your teeth. We all have our crosses to bear. Some invisible and others visible. We have the choice to give all of our sadness, grief, anxiety, depression, hatred, and faults to the Baker of Life. Let Him transform you. No one else can.
Pass the biscuits. Burned ones will do just fine.
