Divided Lives

"We are asked to live divided lives, to be one person on Sunday and a different person the rest of the week."

Heads up I am going to be sharing lots of quotes from this awesome book, Ordinary Lives Extraordinary Mission, in my next several hundred blogs.

Why? Why are we asked to live divided lives?

Being a Christian doesn't mean just following Jesus on Sunday and the other six days of the week ignoring His existence. It means following Him twenty-four/seven, seven days a week. Not because we have to, but because we choose to.

But why then does the rest of the world tell us we have to leave our religion at home?

Think about it.

In public areas it is frowned upon.

Schools mainly.

"This is not freedom of religion; this is destruction of religion."

Living two lives, one on Sunday and the other the rest of the week, is pretty two faced in my opinion.

"But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath; but your yes is to be yes, and your no, no, so that you may not fall under judgment." James 5:12

As Christians we need to man up.

I don't want to say take "pride" in our faith in Christ but to have an endless love for our Savior and our faith in Him.

We need to share that love. Show that love. Not show that love by forcing it down people's throats but by living as Jesus did.

Not just on Sundays. Every day! Everywhere! Yes, in public places, including school.

So are we going to hide our faith, our love. on Monday through Saturday? NO!

Time to show the world that Jesus Christ has risen! Proclaim His word, His works.
