Satiate the Thirst

This was today's meditation from 33 Days to Morning Glory :

"What does it mean to satiate the thirst of Jesus?"

Two things: to console Jesus, the Head of his Mystical Body and to console him in the members of his Body.

How do we console Jesus, the Head of his Body? By being apostles of joy, which means "to console the Sacred Heart of Jesus through joy," and we do this especially with Mary's joy.

Mother Teresa is quoted saying, "Please ask our Lady to give me her heart."

Could those words be any more beautiful? Yes, Lord, please do ask our Lady to give me her heart.

How do we console him in the members of his Body? By recognizing their thirst.

The other day I wrote about Jesus thirsting for us because he loves us so much.

Today I am writing about how I would like to satiate the thirst of Jesus by bouncing off ideas from the answers above.

Mother Teresa asks for our Lady's heart. Why would she do that? Because our Mother Mary's heart is most beautiful and pure and full of joy. Why not want to have such an immaculate heart?

St. Therese the Little flower is known for being like a little child. The bible says,
“Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 18:3

Have the joy of a little child and share it with the world. Be apostles of joy! Not just to those you know and are comfortable around but to all you pass and meet, even if they are not joyful back.

"People today are hungry for love, for understanding love which is much greater and which is the only answer to loneliness and great poverty."
-Mother Teresa

How do we recognize the thirst of those around us? By first accepting our own thirst and choosing not to run away from it but instead being willing to understand the need of others. Their thirst.

Through Christ on the cross and Christ in our neighbor may we always be merciful and joy filled.

Mother Mary, guide us. You know what it is like to want to satiate your Son's thirst. Help us to do so in little ways.
