Self love

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."~Ephesians 2:8

Today is self - harm awareness day.

I wouldn't know this if it weren't for one of my dear friends. Her life has impacted me in more ways than one.

She is one of the strongest, most beautiful, persevering woman I know! And her scars only make her that much more beautiful.

For Jesus too had scars. Scars He chose.

Scars that were healed through new life.

The scourging was the only way He could be loved. For if it weren't for His death we'd not be saved. Without salvation there is no love.

Those of us who have never cut our selves or harmed our bodies in other ways can try to ignore the fact that harming exists.

Self harm is real. Whether it be through actions or even words, God's creation is self destructing.

Choose to be positive over being negative, though it won't always sound good.

The people you less expect to be hurting are the ones hurting the most. There are so many people, young and old, out there battling whether or not love them selves. For many different reasons and each having their own story.

Broken and shattered, you are not alone. No, we all come together through our weaknesses.

Asking for prayers for those who are fighting the hard fight. Not only today, but every day.

May God heal all wounds and may the scars we have created remind us all of the battles we have won.
