Peace and Mercy

“He who knows how to forgive prepares for himself many graces from God. As often as I look upon the cross, so often will I forgive with all of my heart.”

 St. Faustina

Yesterday was the Feast of St. Faustina.

She was born on August 25th in 1905, which is my Baptism day.

I am in awe of the mercy and trust St. Faustina lived her life by.

Today I learned that St. Faustina, was made fun of by her fellow sisters in the convent. They did not believe she was sick with tuberculosis. They forced her to continue working. She gracefully continued to do so with love and mercy in her heart.

Wow! She is a true inspiration of courage and mercy.

Forgiveness is hard.

It would be so easy to yell, “Go pound sand!”

But that’s not courageous or merciful.

“Perhaps the reason our lives are sometimes so full of conflict (whether between nations or just between those close to us) is that we fail to understand something very fundamental about peace - that it only really comes to us after we put God first.” Catholic Women’s Bible, Profile in Faith

Jesus, I trust in You!

“True peace in our lives is not a result of a truce with others. The peace Jesus offers us comes only when our heart is as open to others as His Sacred Heart is open to us.”  Catholic Women’s Bible, Profile in Faith

Sacred Heart of Jesus, surround us!

“Live for the things that last! Don’t be afraid to lay everything down on the line for the Church!”

The Better Part, Father John Bartunek

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us and on the whole world!
