Words have power

Yes, words have power. We have the choice to tear people down or to build them up with just one click of the tongue. Maybe you can think of a time where you felt the carelessness of a person make you feel worthless? Or maybe you're struggling to own up to the fact that you've been that person who used their mouth for wicked deeds instead of good? Odds are you have acted as both caring and careless person. I know I have.
You've heard the saying, "words can hurt more than actions" no doubt it's true.  On facebook you'll find posts everywhere such as this: The Girl you just called fat? She has been starving herself & has lost over 30lbs. The Boy you called stupid, he has a learning disability & studies over 4hrs a night. The Girl you called ugly? She spends hours putting make-up on hoping people will like her. The Boy you just tripped? He is abused enough at home. There’s a lot more to people then you think. Put this as your status if you’re against bullying.
I agree with this to an extent. Don't judge a book by it's cover however what I don't agree with is the touch of the "share" button isn't going to change everything. A person has to do more than just copy and paste the truth. You got to live it!
The only way to prevent ourselves from hurting others and ourselves is stepping back from our situations and  praying. Ask God to make a good example of you so that the others around you will see you as a romodel.
Quit gossiping. Quit lying. Quit tearing people down. Start building people up! Start speaking words of healing, words of love! Start by the true truth..Jesus Christ! Amen?
Now to get started, come Holy Spirit fill my mouth with only the good things people need to hear!

  1. Gabbie- I'm having a KLove moment... "Words can bulid us up. Words can tear us down. Start a fire in our hearts or put it out." (I hope you know what song I'm talking about... Hawk Nelson, anyone?) Keep up the good writing!
