Open the door
"If a boy opening the door for you makes you happy, how much happier will you be when you realize God wants to open an eternal door into your heart?" I posted on facebook yesterday these words that instantly spoke to my heart at first Friday mass.
The happiness one feels when something kind is done only lasts a little while, however with God happiness is forever and always. I am not talking cheesy boy friend, girl friend bubblegum love where forever and always only means a month, five tops. I am saying ETERNITY!
As humans we are looking for that person to open the door for us. What we don't realize is that the Lord has been standing at the door patiently waiting for us to ask Him to open the door for us. Sometimes He even knocks but we choose to ignore His call like we would a salesman selling things we don't need. However God isn't a salesman and isn't trying to sell us anything. He is trying to grab our attention though; because what He has we do need.
This morning I heard my mom teaching about the choice we make whether or not we go to heaven. Those in hell will never be happy. The only happiness comes from God. Don't let the devil rob your joy.
So stop waiting for others to make you happy. Make your own happiness on a foundation of Christ! You'll never be happy until you do your job by answering the door and allowing the One who made the stars and the sky show you what a true open door looks and feels like.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."
Matthew 7:7-8
