Lent 2017

"The human being does not trust God. Tempted by the serpent, he harbors the suspicion that in the end, God takes something away from his life, that God is a rival who curtails our freedom and that we will be fully human only when we cast him aside. In brief, we mistakenly believe that only by casting God aside can we fully achieve our freedom."
 - Pope Benedict XVI

I wanted to use this quote from Pope Benedict XVI because Lent begins tomorrow.

We have little faith in ourselves and zero trust in God when it comes to the season of Lent.

For example, we run from God when we are tempted by the serpent.

We don't comprehend that Jesus WILL rise from the dead.

People, this is is NOT forty days of perpetual temptation with no resurrection!

There WILL be a resurrection!

HIS RESURRECTION!

And we should embrace it! Embrace preparing our hearts for the second coming!
The coming that saves us all!

Through his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

By giving into fear and temptation, we are choosing to turn away from God.

God doesn't want us to run from Him, but to Him!

Use your freewill to to trust God this Lent! In every small moment trust Him.

Let's achieve good things this Lent by making God the center of our lives.
The center of each passing day. The soul and heart of our inmost beings.
