Easy isn't Enough

"What if living the abundant life isn't about having better stories to share but about living a story that lets others live better? What if the goal isn't to experience more of the world but for more of the world to experience more?" -The Broken Way

"Everybody wants to change the world, but nobody wants to do the small thing that makes just one person feel loved." -The Broken Way

"Where are the people who are ready to do hard and holy things?" -The Broken Way

We live in a culture that says 'easy' is the answer. We live in a society that says "go big or go home".

"How am I going to differentiate myself from the culture?" -Dynamic Catholic

"Life can't be about being good enough, but instead believing there is God enough." - The Broken Way

"Who needs more when He's already made us enough?" -The Broken Way

"Christ in me makes me enough." -The Broken Way

There is so much to this book that speaks to my heart!

The Author's words and thoughts inspire me to be more but they also affirm me that I am enough.

How am I going to make the world experience more?

I want to experience real living by living in the moment.

I want to be like St, Therese of Liseux, who made the little things count.

I want to strive for the hard and holy things in life.

Easy isn't enough.

  1. Easy surely isn't enough. Moreover, I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that one should always want to be more, but also know that, as long as we are in God's grace, we are enough. St. Thomas Aquinas we say we are all "not-yet" creatures, always looking for more, never satisfied, but with the hope that God will give us the strength necessary to keep walking our individual path. Here is a little ditty I wrote about that:

    We All are Not-Yet Creatures

We all are not yet creatures
    In an already world;
    Our spirit wears the features
    Of static lances hurled.

The heart that seems so stationed,
    The star a-whirl, set,
    They fade away like shadows
    And ghosts but shades beget.

    Successes and relations
Ship out from our grey port,
    To totter on the billows,
    To buck, and then abort

    Before the place, the moment,
The lull, the rest, the thing,
    The island in the tempest,
    The spring to follow spring.

    Oh wild dream, illusion,
    Oh nightmare in the day,
    The wild spears careening
    Chaotic, any way!

    Untamed, our flaming visions
    Of aging entropy’s
    Grey hairs and withered shoulders
    And old philosophies,

Serve as if barks that bear us
    Upon the nervous sea,
    Where starlight bows, revealing
    Leviathan set free.

God bless you and keep writing (and striving to make "the little things count"). Fr. Bruce
