Companion Fish

Who are your friends? Who can you count on when you need someone?

I read through an old journal and found inspiration for this blog. I have no idea who I'm quoting but it meant something then and it means something now.

"Let people see you in your fish bowl. Be vulnerable and let people into your fish bowl. Let people effect you and let let them challenge you, even when it hurts."

We all need a fish bowl companion.

Someone who will swim across an ocean for us or who will swim circles next to us.

We all need that friend who will love us no matter what.

That friend who will love us for who we are and where we are but will also, encourage us to grow and not remain exactly the same.

"Not to have pleasant or convenient friendships but virtuous friendships."

"Friendship should be intentional not accidental."

Again, who are your friends?

Who is counting on you to help them grow?

Who is your companion?

We recently stayed at a hotel and at the front desk there were these "Companion Fish" and a sign that read, "Alone in your room and want company? Want a pet just for the night? We got you covered!"
Too funny and fitting for the fish bowl analogy.
