2018 Resolution

Daily Reflections for Advent & Christmas - Waiting in Joyful Hope by Mary DeTurris Poust inspired this blog.

Starting off the New Year we all want a fresh start.

We make resolutions to do better.

Most of those promises break within the first week of the new year.

We tell ourselves "I tried" and continue on living a minimalistic life. Living the same lifestyle from the previous year.

It is common that people have stopped making resolutions. There is a fear of disappointment and fear of being held accountable.

For what? Trying.

In order to maintain a life style you have to practice by trying and trying again.

"Our lives change when our habits change." -Matthew Kelly

Resolutions aren't going to fix or heal all. I know that and you know that.

So whether we are afraid of trying or tired of trying, remember,

"what we need is different than what we want." -Mary DeTurris Poust

We could have the world at our fingertips, (and often times we do) would we be completely happy?

No.

Our happiness is not on earth. It is in heaven.

Together let us make our 2018 resolution building the Kingdom of God,

God, help us to keep trying, keep loving and keep journeying together toward heaven!
